Botswana Highlights

Day 1 - Fly overnight from London Heathrow to Maun, via Johannesburg.

Day 2 - Arrive in Maun, shared charter onwards to Mombo - 3 nights at Mombo.

Mombo Camp is situated on the northern tip of Chief's Island within the Moremi Game Reserve, the largest landmass in the Okavango Delta.

The camp is built under large shady trees and overlooks an open floodplain. This area boasts enormous concentrations of plains game and large predators - lions in particular - providing what is arguably the best big game viewing in Botswana.

The sheer numbers and variety of large mammals in this area, all year round, defy description: from elephant and buffalo to tiny steenbok, large numbers of herbivores are followed by their predators - lion, leopard and cheetah - in equal measure. Here, it is 100% game drives; there are no water activities, although guests will see water in the area at times.

Day 5 - Mombo to Jao - 2 nights at Jao.

Jao Camp is located on a large, remote island in a private concession in Botswana, bordering the Moremi Game Reserve in the heart of the Okavango Delta. With
varied habitats ranging from waterways and lagoons to dry Kalahari grasslands and open floodplains, Jao Camp offers both land and water experiences, depending on
the flood levels.

This luxury camp is a tranquil base for a wonderful Okavango Delta safari experience, with generally 30% game drives and 70% water activities (depending on time of year). In the summer months, activities tend more towards game drives, whereas in the winter months, mainly water-based activities are offered.

Mokoros, boat trips, fishing, nature walks, day and night game drives and birding are usually on offer all year round, due to the abundance of wildlife in Botswana.

Day 7 - Jao to Kings Pool - 2 nights at Kings Pool.
Kings Pool Camp is located in the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve, a vast private concession in the northern part of Botswana, on the western boundary of the Chobe National Park.

The accommodation here is luxurious, the wildlife spectacular. Kings Pool Lagoon is known for its attraction to huge herds of elephant in the dry season and the camp activities include day and night game drives and walks, while boat cruises along the Linyanti River (water levels allowing) offer spectacular viewing.

The reed and papyrus swamps are ideal for numerous and diverse species of birds and are a magnet for game in the dry winter months.
