Our View
Meru is one of Kenya's less visited parks (probably because of
poaching in the 1980s, although numbers are healthy again now),
which makes it all the better for undisturbed wildlife viewing. The
nine timber and thatch cottages blend into the landscape really
well, each being completely private and with unbelievable views.
There's a certain pride (excuse the pun!) here too; everything is
done with a smile, and the guides are only too pleased to share
their extensive knowledge with you. It's a little different to a
camp and we love it, especially if you're taking children.
Hotel Description
Set high on an isolated hill, or kopje, this superbly appointed
lodge offers awe-inspiring views across the Meru National Park,
once home to Elsa the lioness.
And while the lodge achieved fame thanks to the 60's movie Born
Free, today you'll find nothing but modern luxury with a rustic
twist in the nine unique bungalows, one of which is a Honeymoon
Suite and a Private House with its own infinity pool and each
serviced by private butler.
Game drives and bush walks take you up close to the sensational
wildlife, while the perfectly placed infinity pool boasts
jaw-dropping sundowner views.
