Our View
Malawi is still a fledgling tourist destination, so the good
news is you won't find many others out for a game drive. But the
even better news is that this lodge is wonderfully small, intimate
and very relaxed, with restful views across the river. And river
safaris are a big part of the attraction here. They're a great way
to see hippos, crocs and especially birds; in fact, we'd recommend
travelling to Mvuu by boat from Liwonde, a fascinating 30km
journey. If you get a chance, visit the rhino sanctuary (although
you will need special advance permission).
Hotel Description
A riverside lodge in the beautiful Liwonde National Park, home
to elephants, hippos and crocodiles, Mvuu is a game-lover's
dream.
Its five comfortable tents are linked to the main dining area by
wooden walkways,
affording superb views of the elephants that roam near the camp.
And after the heat of a riverboat trip or game drive, guests can
cool down in the refreshing plunge pool by day, and warm themselves
by the roaring fire pit by night.
