Our View
A legend in North Africa and beyond, this palace in its vast
(and very relaxing) gardens has always attracted equally legendary
guests: Winston Churchill and Orson Welles both loved it, for
example. The recent major renovations (under the direction of noted
French designer Jacques Garcia), have brought it back to the top of
its game. It's absolutely stunning, and brings a fresh new feel
without losing its distinctive old world looks. It's a perfect
combination, and one we're sure you'll love as much as we do.
Hotel Description
A city landmark since the 18th Century, this legendary palace
has been closed for three years while the acclaimed designer
Jacques Garcia worked his magic on it. And in Autumn 2009, this
grande dame of Marrakech will throw open her doors again to show
her glittering new face to the world. Sheltered within the old city
walls, amongst acres of gardens, La Mamounia has been transformed
into its own work of art, where beautifully-restored mosaics and
ancient lanterns exist in perfect harmony alongside contemporary
furnishings and plush fabrics.
And while the rooms and suites are exercises in exquisite taste,
the three private riads with their courtyard pools are the last
word in luxury. In addition to its sheer beauty, this hotel runs
the full gamut of 5 star facilities, with four gourmet restaurants
serving up local, French and Italian taste sensations, plus five
chic bars in which to share the wonders of the day. For the
energetic, the fitness pavilion, outdoor tennis courts and
sparkling pool beckon, while the immense spa, devoted to your
well-being, ensures you'll leave La Mamounia wanting to return.
