Our View
It takes a while to get here, it's so remote; but that's part of
what makes it so special. The hour drive by 4x4 from the airstrip
is beautiful, as is the unexpected green 'oasis' by the river which
is the camp. Rooms here are huge and very luxurious, but it's the
scenery and activities which stay in the mind longest. Quad biking
on the dunes is terrific fun, and don't miss the boat trip on the
Kunene in the late afternoon; it's the perfect way to see crocs
basking on the banks, while enjoying a sundowner!
Hotel Description
Serra Cafema provides top-drawer luxury in what must be
Namibia's most remote location. Flanked by forest and the Kunene
River, with the awe-inspiring Namib Desert towering above, this
gorgeous camp is a vision of naturally inspired beauty, with eight
thatch and canvas rooms decked out in muted greys and beiges,
opening onto bleached decks complete with candlelit tables.
Adventures by boat, foot, jeep or quad bike await, but simply
soaking up the views from the camp pool is a tempting
alternative.
