Our View
So-called because of the skeletal shipwrecks left by early
explorers, the coast is actually about 12 miles from the camp
itself, which is on an old river bed surrounded by dunes. While the
service can't be faulted, the camp is comfortable rather than
out-and-out luxury. But what you do get here is a fantastic,
out-of-this-world location, and a unique eco-system to explore; and
explore you will, with long, active days (up to 12 hours). It's a
small price to pay to see the huge and dramatic seal colony,
jackals, hyenas, giraffes, ostriches, elephants and more.
