Our View
Room 1 does it for us. There's something surreal about being
able to view whales from your bed! But here, it's just one of the
natural attractions. Of course, there's loads to do out of whale
season, too: scuba, shark diving, quad biking, kayaking, golf...
the list goes on. As you've probably guessed, this is the perfect
place to get away from it all. It's secluded and feels very 'adult'
(in fact, under 12's can't stay in the hotel - but families can
book the villa). So pack your binoculars, book Room 1 and keep a
look out for those whales…
Hotel Description
Birkenhead House has, without a doubt, one of the best
locations; once the beach house of Liz Biden's family, it lies high
on a dramatic clifftop, above the rolling surf of the Indian Ocean
and the beach below. It has a warm, welcoming and almost
house-party atmosphere with a modern architectural design and
effortlessly stylish interiors. The guest rooms extend across three
different houses that layer down from the road to the ocean and are
decorated with various themes. Excellent staff and memorable
cuisine are just two of the experiences here, but one thing's for
sure, not many hotels can provide you with a private whale
performance at breakfast!
