Our View
If you're taking the family on safari, we really can't think of
anywhere better. A big plus is that it's malariafree, but it also
has lovely, very private lodges. We'd recommend Little Madikwe,
with its two bedrooms, own pool, butler, chef, ranger and game
vehicle - perfect for families. You're well-positioned at the
centre of the reserve (making it easier to explore every corner),
overlooking a brilliant waterhole. On our visit, lions actually
came to drink while we were having lunch (thank goodness it wasn't
the other way round or we might have been in trouble!).
Hotel Description
Set on a gentle slope nestled between two rolling hills, Madikwe
Safari Lodge overlooks game-filled plains with the Dwarsberg Hills
in the distance and the Marico River nearby. The stylish suites are
organic in design having intriguing details like woven copper
screens, and are cleverly placed amongst the giant boulders, each
one an oasis of blissful comfort. Little Madikwe Hills is just the
place for families: there's a great restaurant, an open-air boma
for fireside dining, a gym, a spa and children's activities, and
you never know, you might even spot a wild black rhino, which roam
freely amongst the 'Big Five'!
