Our View
The name translates as 'lion'. And you'll see plenty of these,
plus cheetahs and wild dog as the plains dry out from June onwards,
and they arrive in search of the many antelope already here. We
found the tents really spacious and surprisingly luxurious, with
grass-covered roofs to help keep them cool. One has recently been
rebuilt to make it bigger than the others, and is therefore ideal
for family trips.
Hotel Description
If it's a completely personal experience you're after, look no
further than small-but-perfectly-formed Shumba.
Boasting just six fabulously appointed tents, each raised on
platforms for superior views of the surrounding plains and their
prolific wildlife, this camp is the last word in modern safari
chic.
Here you'll find muslin-draped four-posters, expansive decks
dotted with comfy sofas and an inviting plunge pool in which to
enjoy some truly un-missable sundowners, whilst nearby, skilled
chefs prepare your meal on a blazing open fire
