Our View
Unbelievably cool. It applies equally
to Robert de Niro and his hotel. But this is no fashion-conscious
design statement; it's an eclectic mix of styles and materials
that's warm, welcoming…Inviting with a capital 'I'.
Inmany ways it doesn't feel like a
hotel, more like a home - albeit one with fabulous bathrooms, an
amazing bamboo spa (yes, really!) and the most beautiful basement
pool. Look out too for the Picasso-esque paintings in the lobby and
drawing room; they're actually by de Niro's Dad!
Hotel Description
Trendy TriBeCa is home to New York's
annual Film Festival - so how appropriate that de Niro's hotel is
at its heart. And what a hotel. Each of the 88 bedrooms is
individually styled, particularly the duplex suites with their
kitchens, offices, stone fireplaces and stunning 30ft skylight
windows.
Italian influences include the
outstanding Locanda Verde restaurant and beautiful Tuscan
courtyard; while the divine spa is truly Japanese, inside a bamboo
farmhouse imported from Kyoto. The staff, meanwhile, could hold a
masterclass in customer service.
