Our View
Surrounded by bustling mid-town, the
Peninsula remains understated and elegant; an oasis in the heart of
Manhattan. It's especially true of the rooftop spa and fitness
centre, with its light and airy pool, bamboo floors and teak
accents.
It's all wonderfully relaxing, as are
the beds (we've heard them likened to marshmallow clouds!), while
bathrooms are big and luxurious. Add service that's in a league of
its own, and you can see why The Peninsula is one of our favourite
NY retreats.
Hotel Description
It's one of the best addresses in New
York (5th Ave), and the lobby just oozes turn-of-the-century
architectural detail. By contrast, rooms are grand but not fussy or
glitzy, with restful, earthy tones complementing the sumptuous
beds.
You're right at the heart of mid-town
here, minutes from MoMA, Times Square and the Rockefeller Centre.
Consequently the hotel's Fives Restaurant is a favourite for
business breakfasts and lunches, while the rooftop Salon de Ning
bar has spectacular city views to go with your nightcap.
