Our View
Opposite the best stretch of Rio's
beach, the Copa has had a glamorous A-list reputation since the
1930s, when Fred and Ginger danced here in 'Flying Down to
Rio'.
Since then, it's hosted kings, queens
and Hollywood royalty, from Orson Welles to Will Smith; it all
feels suitably grand and luxurious (including some of the most
comfortable beds we've ever slept in!), while embodying the magic
and soul of Rio itself. We particularly loved people-watching from
the poolside terrace - fascinating!
Hotel Description
Every major city has its landmark
hotel; and in Rio it's the Copacabana Palace, its imposing classic
white façade and cavernous marble and granite foyers harking back
to the city's golden age.
Similarly, its 245 rooms and suites are
large sunny spaces with extremely comfy beds and huge marble
bathrooms; an old-world elegance only matched by exemplary
old-fashioned service.
Brunch at Pergola is legendary, dinner
at Cipriani sophisticated (and delectable!), and the spa has
quickly gained a reputation as a first class urban sanctuary.
