Our View
How refreshing! There's a disarming honesty and genuine welcome
here that makes it very different. It's a beautiful setting, with a
wonderful beach (we're told there's a strong Atlantic undercurrent
though); very much a family feel too (Sting brought his here a
little while back), although it never feels crowded.
We love the Thalasso Spa - almost as invigorating as bathing in
the nearby River Pojuca - and for a taste of ow refreshing! There's
a disarming honesty and genuine welcome the old Brazil, visit the
Bahian fishing village the resort helps to support.
Hotel Description
Colourful, simple architecture and a lovely setting on
Salvador's expansive beach attract many Brazilians here, especially
as it's well equipped for families; the Careta Careta Kids' Club is
excellent.
The style is contemporary and sophisticated (lots of dark wood),
the best rooms being the Deluxe Suites with Jacuzzi. Food across
all three restaurants is impressive too, especially the
seafood.
There are many guided excursions (the sea-turtles and
whale-watching are popular), and other activities include
watersports, tennis and a choice of eight swimming pools.
