Our View
How unspoilt do you like your
wilderness? Even residents of British Columbia, used to natural
beauty, are wowed by Sonora (check the comments in the guest
book!).
Everywhere you look there's a fabulous
view over the surrounding mountains and ocean; but that's not all
you'll see. Grizzlies, eagles, orca and seals are all nearby, and
the brilliant staff help you get as close as you want to.
Alternatively, just lie back in the
spa's heavenly mineral pool and drink in the view while sipping a
cocktail (apple martini or watermelon mojito anyone?). Take it from
us, the only thing that's spoilt around here is you.
Hotel Description
BC has some wonderful eco-lodges, but
none quite as special as Sonora. The only resort on the island,
it's only accessible by air or boat; a jewel st between the
rainforest and the ocean.
Lots of glass and timber show off the
views; the individually-themed lodges are all incredibly spacious
and comfortable.
Surrounded by such peace, a spa seems
perfect - and the Islands Currents is, from its 'tranquillity wall'
waterfall to its hydrotherapy pool.
Like the surroundings, dining is
elegant and rustic, displaying a real passion. But it's the
activities that win; fishing trips, kayaking, eco-tours, helicopter
trips to picnic on a glacier, even golf at world-famous Stoney
Creek - just a one-hour cruise by boat!
