Our View
The layout here is very clever. It feels as though there are
lots of interesting corners to explore; it also helps each room
feel very different from all the others. In fact, the resort seems
to divide itself into lagoon and beach, with families tending to
stay around the beach pool area (there are also two other pools).
Service is excellent by any standards, and you may be transferred
to your room by luxury boat. If you choose a Beachfront Suite, be
prepared for the sight of the bright blue ocean literally filling
the entire sliding windows - it's a jaw-dropping scene!
Hotel Description
Situated along a mile-long arc of white sand on the Riviera
Maya, surrounded by an emerald jungle and caressed by warm
Caribbean breezes, Rosewood Mayakobá is permeated with the unique
spirit of Mexico's Yucatán Peninsula. Built across a network of
lagoons and the Caribbean Sea, the resort's suites are spacious and
strikingly modern in design yet cleverly crafted using indigenous
materials of limestone and wood, each with a private plunge pool.
Guests have access to a Greg Norman-designed golf course and a
17,000 sqft spa, Sense, which is located on a private island and
has 12 treatment rooms. The indulgent Island Suites each boast a
private spa treatment room, bathroom with outdoor garden shower,
terrace with plunge pool and a rooftop sundeck. Mayakobá also has
four restaurants, including a raw bar and an organic spa café, plus
a well-stocked tequila library.
