Our View
The Inca trail is a must-see for many
people (that's one reason Monasterio's guest list reads like a
Who's Who...); and for us, this is a must-stay (…that's the
other).
It's so in keeping with the ancient
feel of Cusco, and we just love how the staff go the extra mile to
help you enjoy their beautiful city.
It's a heady mix of luxury hotel and
museum; and if the altitude gives you a bad head, rooms can be
oxygen-enriched to help.
Hotel Description
Spiritual and very special, this
300-year old place of worship is now at the high altar of
luxury.
The rooms and suites are impeccably
decorated in Spanish Renaissance style, while the walls are packed
with 18th Century religious art (and don't miss the glittering
gilded chapel); the courtyards are simply gorgeous, and the food in
the restaurants - both Tupay in the original vaulted refectory and
Illariy in the colonnades - is possibly the best in Peru and, like
everything here, truly memorable.
