Anywhere else in the world, this would stand out as absolutely
stunning. But next to one of the world's most beautiful buildings,
it's got an uphill task. Still, at night it holds its own, lit up
like a pure 'Arabian Nights' fantasy. The area around the Taj is
surrounded by shops with vendors who can be most persistent, so the
Amarvilas is an even more welcome sanctuary at the end of the day
(particularly the excellent spa). We'd recommend a balcony room, to
get the most romantic view of the shimmering monument subtly
changing colour at sunset.
Hotel Description
With each room boasting sensational, uninterrupted views of the
Taj Mahal, the Amarvilas could be forgiven for thinking it didn't
have to try too hard. But that couldn't be further from the truth,
in this opulent resort with its sparkling fountains and pools,
superbly-equipped gym and sumptuous Oberoi spa. Here service and
detail are paramount, something you'll discover in the immaculately
presented and traditionally inspired rooms, in the two smart
restaurants, and in the terrace bar - the perfect spot to drink in
those views.
