North India Itinerary

Day 1 - Fly overnight from London Heathrow to Delhi.

Day 2 - Arrive Delhi - 1 night at The Imperial.

Visit Old and New Delhi where highlights include visits to the Red Fort, a rickshaw ride through the Moonlit Square to the markets in Old Delhi; then visit New Delhi including the Viceroy's House, the Lutyen's magnum opus - which is larger than Versailles, and Parliament House, which was where the constitution of independent India was drafted.

Day 3 - Delhi to Agra - 2 nights at Amarvilas.

From Delhi, you experience the train to Agra: The Shatabdi Express, which takes 2 hours. Enriched with an affluent historical and cultural backdrop, the city of Agra goes back several centuries, but is widely known for the Taj Mahal, the most extravagant monument ever built for love. The Oberoi Amarvilas is located 600 metres from the Taj Mahal and all rooms offer breathtaking views of the monument. Whilst here, visit the Taj Mahal, the great Agra Fort and take a tour of Agra city.

Day 5 - Agra to Bharatpur to Ranthambhore - 3 nights at Vanyavilas.

From Agra, you will be taken to Bharatpur Railway Station for the train to Sawai Madhopur, visiting Fatehpur Sikri en route. Fatehpur Sikri, or the 'City of Victory' was built as an affirmation of faith, hope and joy, yet only 15 years later, this dream city was abandoned. Ranthambhore, is famous for its tigers, as ore tigers than in any other sanctuary in India are encountered here during daylight hours. Other features are the large population of panthers, hyenas, jackals, jungle cats, sloth bears and marsh crocodiles to name but a few. Whilst here, there are morning and evening Jeep Safaris in the National Park too.

Day 8 - Ranthambhore to Jaipur - 3 nights at Rajvilas.

The Oberoi Rajvilas, in Jaipur, one of India's most vibrant and exotic destinations, is a luxury resort with its own distinctive character. Recreating the magnificence of princely Rajasthan in a beautiful fort setting, with Jaipur as its backdrop, The Oberoi Rajvilas is set in 32 acres of landscaped gardens with pavilions and reflection pools. While in Jaipur, visit the numerous palaces, forts, festivals and bazaars - the most interesting of which lie in the Pink City quarter. Combine this with a visit to the Amber Fort, the Medieval Rajput Citadel, and a tour of Jaipur city including the City Palace and the Observatory.

Day 11 - Jaipur to Udaipur - 4 nights at Udaivilas.

Located in the heart of Rajasthan, Udaipur is a city of majestic palaces and beautiful lakes. Here, adorning the banks of Lake Pichola and standing witness to the historic City Palace, The Oberoi Udaivilas captures all the romance and splendour of a royal era. While you are here, we suggest that you visit: Eklingi and Nagda Temples, known for its 108 temples, of which only a handful are still able to be visited; Udaipur City; and the Crystal Gallery, which displays some of the world's finest crystal furniture, tables and beds, all custom-made for a Maharaja enamoured with the crystal he saw on a trip to Europe!

Day 15 - Udaipur To Delhi - 1 night at The Imperial.

The Imperial is an ode to India's independence from the British Raj and was built as a jewel in the crown of the outgoing rulers. The Imperial boasts a rich historical past with an awe-inspiring heritage. It is steps away from the renowned shopping district and major city attractions.

Day 16 - Delhi to London Heathrow.
