Our View
Ranthambore is famous for its tigers -
in fact, the Maharajas used to hunt them in the reserve - and
Vanyavilas feels just how we imagine a royal hunting party would
have, dining in the royal lodge and sleeping in royal tents (Tents?
More like top hotel suites with canvas roofs!).
Animals are everywhere, too: elephants
on friezes, peacocks on murals, tigers on the silk walls. Our
favourites though, were Lakshmi and Mala - the hotel's resident
real elephants, used to take guests for rides!
Hotel Description
Don't be fooled by the word 'tent';
these are better than many hotel suites, with air-con, hardwood
floors, four-posters, roll-top baths, satellite, Wi-Fi and a
private garden!
The elegantly-turbaned and sari-clad
staff will do their best to ensure you see tigers (if that's what
you're here for), but if the search proves fruitless there's plenty
to console yourself with: a dip in the perfect pool, a long menu of
spa treatments, billiards in the library or just a seven-course
dinner in the exquisite restaurant.
