Everything, from the fantastic Barrier Reef views to the hand-made
chocolate praline on your pillow at night, is really as good as you
could imagine anywhere. Having been created by a couple of wine
billionaires, it inevitably has a feel of 'rich man's playground'
(which is no bad thing!); and as you'd expect, the food and wine
list are particularly good. Our dream stay would be in the
self-contained Beach House, but the Windward Pavilions come a close
second (particularly 5, 6 and 7 with their uninterrupted reef
views). Sheer class.
Hotel Description
This is one stunning resort. Since its
opening, qualia, Australia's latest world-class resort on Hamilton
Island, has been showered with praise, awards and accolades. No
expense has been spared, whether in the gardens or the interiors -
everything is simply exceptional. It is a place which relaxes the
mind and spoils the senses with exquisitely appointed pavilions,
private plunge pools and picture-perfect views of the Coral Sea. A
plethora of activities include cruising the Whitsundays Islands,
viewing Whitehaven Beach by helicopter or snorkelling amongst
colourful tropical fish at the Heart Reef. Back at the resort,
pamper yourself at Spa qualia and dine on authentic Australian
cuisine in the wonderful restaurants.
