Our View
Halfway across the Pacific, Bora Bora
is as far away from it all as you can get. And the St. Regis is
just as far from the ordinary.
The setting's gorgeous -nothing beats
the cobalt ocean view from your bed before jumping off your terrace
into the lagoon!
It's very private too -no wonder it's a favourite with
Hollywood's A-list (it was actually the location for the romantic
comedy Couples Retreat'). For complete serenity, we'd reccomend
taking a picnic on a sailboat around the island.
And as nightlife's not big here, why not get an early night and
wake up in time for the sunrise. Blissful!
Hotel Description
Following Cyclone Oli in February 2010,
the St. Regis has been extensively upgraded and is now better than
ever.
The villas are still as stylish and
soothing (we'd recommend an overwater villa for complete
tranquillity), but the lagoon and beaches have both had a facelift
(as if they needed improving!).
The stunning Miri Miri marine spa, on
an island in the lagoon, feels even more relaxing with hundreds of
new white glass tiles reflecting the sky (the main pool's had a
similar makeover).
One thing that hasn't changed though,
is the excellent cuisine at both Jean-Georges' signature Lagoon
restaurant and Sushi Take -delicious! For such a romantic setting,
it's surprisingly good for kids too, with a dedicated activity
centre.
