Our View
Huka has quite a reputation. Past
guests include the rich and famous from Bill Gates to Billy
Connolly; on her last visit to NZ, even the Queen stayed here. If
you're expecting high standards, you won't be disappointed. You
will be surprised though. In spite of its celebrity status, there's
no snobbiness; just pure relaxation, in an idyllic spot with river
views as beautiful as you could imagine. The suites are almost as
gorgeous: light, airy and bringing the outdoors in, with the
fabulous Owner's Cottage (and recently-built Alan Pye Cottage)
offering extra privacy. Just the thing for the weary celeb.
Hotel Description
An enchanting landscape of lakes,
mountains and waterfalls forms a vast backdrop to this iconic
property. It is essentially a secluded lodge in the midst of
breathtaking and unspoilt scenery and has expansive rooms filled
with light, attractive furnishings and outdoor terraces. For
activities (and especially if you like your fish) you'll find the
Waikato and some 40 other nearby rivers which attract anglers from
all over the globe. Fishing is not the only attraction though:
gourmet cuisine, swimming, spa pools, rafting, bungee jumping and
limousine rides to view geysers, boiling mud pools and volcanoes at
Rotorua town, are also great alternatives.
