Our View
The first thing that strikes you about
Dukes is how amazingly quiet and refined it is. Tucked away in its
own little courtyard in smart St James's, the doorman welcomes you
like a visiting Duke staying at your 'club'; a sensation that
continues inside, too. Its beautiful rooms have a delightful mix of
classic and contemporary features, with an elegant dining room and
sumptuous bar renowned for its vintage ports and whiskies (some
dating back to 1800). Try the excellent dry Martini while you're
here; it inspired Ian Fleming (a regular visitor) to make it Bond's
favourite tipple.
