Our View
A rare beast, this: a beautiful stately home with country
pursuits, spa and fine dining, that's just as brilliant for
families as it is for couples! Arriving here is undeniably
impressive, with its huge rotunda, but the mood is surprisingly
relaxed. The hotel is in one wing of the original house (there are
separate apartments too), and inside there's an easy-going mix of
traditional and 20th century retro. Kids are well looked after,
with their own playrooms, activities and child-friendly restaurants
(there's also Fredericks Restaurant for adults only). The pool and
subterranean spa are gorgeous, plus there are so many other
activities, no-one will get bored!
Hotel Description
Once the grand residence of the Hervey family, now this
beautiful stately home has metamorphosed into one of Britain's most
luxurious family hotels, welcoming visitors young and old. And with
children's staffed play dens, 1800 acres of National Trust parkland
containing riding stables, nature trails and trampolines, plus a
heavenly spa, no-one will be stuck for things to do. Meanwhile,
mealtimes are as family-friendly as you want them to be, with both
child-centric and romantic adult eateries to choose from.
