Our View
The first thing to note is that the hotel is NOT linked to the
Old Course itself (so getting a tee time may be as challenging as
the course!), although it does have its own course, Duke's. Now
that's out of the way, even non-golfers love it here. Rooms are
generous and light, with a new wing in more contemporary minimalist
style (quite Japanese in feel). The excellent spa has unusual
mineral bathing treatments, and try the excellent tasting menu at
the Road Hole Grill. There's also one of Scotland's best beaches
just down the road.
Hotel Description
Located next to the world's most famous golf course with
wonderful views of the sea, this impressive hotel has quite some
setting to live up to. And this it most definitely does, with its
elegantly plush rooms and suites, its great-looking indoor pool,
gymnasium and sauna, its wide-ranging selection of top-notch
eateries and its superbly stocked whisky bar. Small wonder then,
that The Old Course has been voted Scottish Hotel of the Year for
two consecutive years.
