Following 2009's renovations, it's now arguably the best.
Naturally, the main draw is golf: two championship courses (the
Ailsa's as good as it gets, especially having hosted the last
Open), plus a 9-hole course and golf academy mean even beginners
can enjoy it. But there's much more too: loads of outdoor
activities including archery, fishing, falconry and horse riding to
name but a few, a beautiful new spa and a fantastic welcome for
kids. Rooms in the hotel are great, but families might be better
with one of the excellent cottages.
