This is one of those places where natural perfection meets
pitch-perfect hospitality. As an all-villa resort, each level of
accommodation is exceptional and the Muthee and Laalu villas are
nothing short of sensational. There's also a genuine organic feel
to the resort and the layout is suited to absolute solitude (should
you want it!) or to more social activities, such as cocktails by
the ocean. But one thing is a must - a private cruise with lunch on
the equator.
Hotel Description
An all-villa resort woven amongst tropical vegetation and
fringed by an expanse of azure, tepid ocean, Shangri-La's
Villingili Resort and Spa is the text-book definition of paradise.
The boutique-style environment offers a personalised service in a
setting that is truly unique amongst Maldivian resorts, being the
first luxury hotel located south of the equator. There are over six
kilometres of coastline, two of pure white sand, plus the
innovative CHI spa which offers an almost inexhaustible array of
treatments - including the four-hour-long 'Serenity Ritual'.
The sensory pleasures of eating and drinking are well catered
for too on the resort, with Khazaanaage leading the restaurant
selection with its three distinctive living rooms that focus on
fine cuisine from the Indian Ocean, the South China Sea and the
Arabian Gulf. Then, there is the accommodation, a heart-stopping
array of magical villas: choose from five distinct styles, all
influenced by Middle Eastern and Indian aesthetics. There are Pool
Villas, each with private pool; Beach Villas with private pool, set
over two separate pavilions and leading onto virgin sands; Tree
House Villas with private pool, perched in the treetops amidst
dense vegetation; Water Villas, built on stilts in the resort's
lagoon; and for those travelling in groups, the Twin Beach Villas
with private pool are ideal.
