Our View
What we love most about Soneva Fushi
(apart from the isolation, the jungle, the villas, the beaches) is
that they really do put some thought into standing out from the
crowd. The observatory is an amazing touch when the skies are this
clear, while there really is nothing quite so romantic as watching
a classic love story from your spot on a powder-white beach.
Hotel Description
At Soneva Fushi they like to think of
themselves as the original 'no news, no shoes' resort (well, shoes
are impractical on those soft sandy jungle pathways anyway),
somewhere isolated enough for you to think of yourself as almost
literally out of this world but with no shortage of creature
comforts for those who don't want to take the whole Robinson Crusoe
thing too far.
Having arrived by seaplane and
motorboat, you can set up camp in one of just 65 beautiful thatched
villas, all opening onto that powdery white sand and, in some
cases,a private sea-water pool.
Dinner can be a gourmet affair or a
fresh-today barbecue complemented with an immaculate wine cellar;
while for fun, you'll have to choose between a full menu of
watersports and diving, the spa, a movie on the beach at Cinema
Paradiso or gazing at the stars in the new observatory.
