Our View
Paradis has done that rare thing of combining all the benefits
of an activity-led resort, with those of a tropical retreat.
There's a breathtaking array of sports to choose from, both
land-and water-based (sailing, windsurfing, deep-sea fishing,
tennis, Pilates, volleyball, golf; the list is almost endless), but
if that's not your thing (or is just your partner's thing!),
then it's easy to lie back and go for the Bond Girl option - we
found Paradis Bar's house specialty pancakes (washed down with
pomegranate martinis!), particularly addictive, especially at
sunset with the waves lapping at our feet. Heaven.
Hotel Description
Like something from a tropical Bond sequence, just the setting
of Paradis is enough to steal your breath away. Set on a peninsula
stretching out between azure seas and lush peaks, and fringed by
seven kilometres of whiter-than-white beaches, this
family-friendly resort ranks among Mauritius's finest and as the
name suggests, it's pretty much paradise on earth.
The resort is made from of a series of sensitively designed
rooms and suites that straddle the sand and weave their way
between lazy palms, and a world-class, 18-hole golf course; giving
it an organic, village-like feel. Accommodation, whether it's
in one of the hotel's suites or a private villa, comes with
to-die-for views as standard, as well as the beach on your
doorstep. Catering for every indulgence, enjoy alfresco dining
at one of the four restaurants (seven, if you include those at
Dinarobin, Paradis's sister hotel), cocktails along with the
nightly entertainment and guilt-free pampering at Spa by Clarins -
this is the stuff dreams are made of.
