Our View
Not as grand as some of the other Seychelles resorts, but just
as idyllic. The main attraction here is tranquillity, rather than
out and out luxury. No phones, no TVs, just one road and lots of
beautiful white beaches. Your day will probably revolve around when
to snooze, whether you need to top up the sun cream and whether to
watch the sun come up or go down. There are some water sports (the
diving is excellent); but the giant turtles have the right idea:
just take it all very s-l-o-w-l-y.
Hotel Description
With its white, coral-fringed beaches shaded by coconut trees,
Desroches Island must be in the running for the title of world's
most beautiful destination. And with 14 kilometres of pristine
sands, there's plenty of room for its discerning guests to find
their own private idyll. And there's plenty of choice regarding
where to stay too. Here 20 suites hug the west coast beach,
showcasing a mix of mod cons with local materials such as rattan
and natural wood, while large verandas provide the perfect spot for
private dining.
In addition, 26 four- and five-bedroomed villas are tucked away
on the unspoilt north coast, offering the same blend of comfort and
style, but with added extras like private pools and private
chefs on hand to whip up gourmet treats. Guests can explore
the island with its lighthouse, local village and hidden beaches by
foot or bicycle, while superb dive sites and water sports also
await. For pure indulgence, the island spa offers treatments on the
sands or in the jungle, while dinners for two on the beach complete
the picture of a beach paradise.
