Our View
Despite its natural appearance, this lush tropical island offers
a real taste of high-living at its swishest. From the moment
your helicopter lands, you'll be treated like a lord (or lady),
with the tiny guest numbers making for extra-personal service
and real privacy. For the last word in Crusoe fantasies, book the
über-exclusive Villa North Island, tucked away in the
surrounding forest, at the end of the amazing main beach.
Hotel Description
If you're looking for the ultimate escape from the cares of
everyday life, then look no further. With just 11 thatched
villas, North Island is just about as castaway-friendly as they
come. But this is a top-end resort with a twist: everything
here is environmentally-orientated with accommodation built from
fallen wood, vegetables and herbs grown on site and a wildlife
programme that's re-introduced native species like the tortoise and
some of the world's rarest birds.
And here's the best bit, being eco-sensitive doesn't mean
they're skimping on the five star loveliness. The huge villas
are completed in natural materials but still manage to be
fabulously luxurious, while floor-to-ceiling glass windows
open onto gardens, private plunge pools and empty white sands.
And should all that peace and tranquillity start to pall,
there's the beachcomber-style lounge or the library to meet
up in, plus the 'no-menu' restaurant where your wish is quite
literally North Island's command.
