Our View
This is holidaying on an epic scale. You can't help but
name-check every desert-based, romantic masterpiece, from The
English Patient to Lawrence of Arabia, only here it's all about
happy endings; and beginnings, and all the bits in-between. If
you're after sanctuary, this is the place to be, but we'd also
heartily recommend the dune driving and falconry if you fancy
something a little more high-octane.
Hotel Description
Just 45 minutes from the Middle East's undisputed playground,
Dubai, the Al Maha Desert Resort & Spa is set in 140 sq
miles (that isn't a typo - it really is that vast!) of almost
unimaginable desert loveliness. Inspired by a traditional
Bedouin encampment, your suite, each with private,
temperature-controlled pool and Bvlgari amenities, is all
Lawrence of Arabia, 21st century style.
The resort lies within an award-winning
conservation reserve which represents almost five per cent of
Dubai's land area, is beautiful to the point of surreal. A
vast sea of sand, sand and more sand, with tent-style villas
almost growing out of the arid desert landscape,
where wildlife is free to roam (look out for the famous
spear-horned oryx) and pretty much guaranteed
nightly, spine-tingling sunsets make this one of the most
awe-inspiring resorts on earth, all of course topped off by
the luxuries you expect from an internationally-renowned
five-star deluxe resort. Al Maha is all your Arabian Nights
fantasies come true.
