Our View
And now for something completely different. How about all the
luxuries of one of the Gulf's best hotels, combined with
African-style game drives and activities more akin to a European
resort? It's a curious mix, but it works really well (especially
with children in tow!). The place itself is beautiful, feeling
perhaps a little more African than Arabian; and the island was once
a private royal nature reserve. It's a great way to get close to
nature, without having to do the whole safari thing.
Hotel Description
Once the private retreat and wildlife reserve of none other than
the founder of the United Arab Emirates, now Sir Bani Yas Island is
open exclusively to guests of this extraordinary resort, where
you're guaranteed to find opulence on a grand scale. In addition,
this is a hideaway that is proud of its royal associations, so
while the spacious rooms are cool and calm oases, you'll also find
a nod to Arabic traditions in the local artwork and beautifully
patterned rugs.
Enormous villas continue the luxurious theme with private pools
and beachside gardens affording guests complete privacy. Outside, a
stunning freeform infinity pool overlooks the azure waters of the
Arabian Gulf, while white sands and exceptional spa treatments are
on hand to ease cares away. In contrast, guests can admire the
island's rugged good looks from the sea where a fine range of water
sports await, or by mountain bike. And it also houses the
sensational Arabian Wildlife Park, home to many indigenous animals
which are now extinct in the wild, and where guests can encounter
these amazing animals on safari-style game drives.
