Al Waha, Shangri-La’s Barr Al Jissah Resort & Spa Oman

Our View

This is the most family-friendly (as well as the largest) of the three hotels that make up the Barr Al Jissah Resort. Kids love the lazy river that connects to the pool at Al Bandar, and there are special activities and menus in the restaurants. Even though it's less expensive than the other hotels here, service is still top-notch too. One of our favourite treats is going with the Turtle Ranger to see where the local sea turtles lay their eggs. They'll show you nests, and even let you know if any hatch (generally from January to June)!

Hotel Description

It's Oman's first dedicated leisure hotel and the largest in the Barr Al Jissah 'city' resort, so you're perfectly placed to take full advantage of the 124 acres of stylish escapism. 'Al Waha' means oasis and, with palm-fringed pools forming the heart the Dhofari-style hotel, vehicle access is by a man-made tunnel only. If you can bear to drag yourself away, try one of the desert safaris, or cosmopolitan shopping in Oman's capital city, Muscat, only 15 minutes away.
