Our View
As hotels go, this is pretty dazzling stuff. They've taken care
not to flow over into OTT territory, giving The Chedi the air
of a stylish boutique hotel, without the boutique bit. The spa is
divine, the sunken terrazzo baths to die for, especially
following one of their famous massages. It's worth noting, though,
that if you're after lily-white beaches, you're better off
heading to Dubai, but Oman is authentic Arabia.
Hotel Description
Vibrant, sophisticated, charming to within an inch of its
white-washed loveliness, The Chedi, located in Oman's capital
city, Muscat, is elegance incarnate. There's a restrained opulence
to this 156-roomed hotel, where every effort has been put in
to create a resort that oozes character, yet remains at ease with
its magnificent backdrop, namely deserts, mountains and the
stunning Boushar beachfront, which dips into the pure waters of the
Gulf of Oman.
Azure pools peppered with dreamy cabanas, a water garden, plus a
private length of beach are yours for the taking, with the
architect's emphasis on clean lines and rich finishings providing
the perfect accompaniment to the trademark Arabian blue
skies.
It goes without saying that its facilities are world-class; a
spa, two swimming pools, a library, two floodlit tennis
courts, even a fine arts gallery, with no fewer than seven
stylish options for dining, including the ravishingly-located
Beach Restaurant.
